TRENTON G. LAMERE

Experienced Legal Counsel

Lamere Headshot.jpg

I've been advocating for "the underdog" for over fifteen years.  I fight for people whose civil rights have been violated and those who've been harmed by the harmful, wrongful, or negligent acts of others.

As an advocate, I'm not afraid to stand up to the defense, routinely defeating motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment, as well as winning discovery motions when defendants refuse to turn over important information. An effective lawyer in the courtroom, I've been a member of several successful trial and appellate teams, including a jury win in federal court against the California Attorney General's Office in a prisoner-rights case brought under the Eighth Amendment.  And when doing so would result in a fair resolution, I negotiate fair settlements through mediation, arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution methods.

I also enjoy helping individuals and families start new businesses and non-profit organizations. From choosing the best organizational structure, to protecting your organization as it grows, my aim is to develop a working relationship with you to meet your organization's goals.

After being admitted to practice law in California in 2010, I practiced there for ten years. I moved my home base to Illinois in 2020 while maintaining a  remote practice in California. I was admitted to practice law in Illinois since 2022.

I graduated cum laude from California Western School of Law with  in 2010, and magna cum laude from Utah State University in 2005. During law school, I earned a summer internship at the National Center for Lesbian Rights and after that, interned for several judges of the California Superior Court. Immediately after law school, I had the privilege of clerking in the chambers of two United States District Judges for the Southern District of California, where I gained invaluable insight into how judges manage and rule on cases.
